Members of Loyola’s Office of Public Affairs and External Relations were recognized at the recent Public Relations Society of America awards ceremony November 10, 2011.
The university held a blessing ceremony Tuesday afternoon and dedicated the new Whitney Bank Presentation Room, the building’s former chapel which was renamed in honor of the bank which donated $500,000 to the project.

Ever since Carlos Ayala ‘57 graduated with a business degree from Loyola, he credited his education for his remarkable success in life and as an investor. Prior to his death earlier this year, Ayala made one final significant investment, a $1.5 million gift to Loyola’s College of Business.
Through the Gayle & Tom Benson Charitable Foundation, New Orleans Saints owner Tom Benson has generously pledged $8 million to Loyola University New Orleans to create a new home for the university’s Jesuit Center.
The university recently launched the free Loyola App as a user-friendly source that provides the entire university community with current news, events and athletics highlights. The project was spearheaded by the Office of Marketing & Communications.
