Scholarship Student Essay Contest

An essay/speech- off contest will be held to select the student speaker  for the Scholarship Donor Dinner on April 7, 2016. The panel of judges will consist of Institutional Advancement and Enrollment Management administrative staff. The student speaker’s address is usually the highlight of the evening for our donors.

The essays should be heartfelt expressions of gratitude to the donors who have made significant contributions to Loyola on behalf of students just like you. We want the donors to know how much the scholarships are appreciated and what their scholarship contributions mean to you personally and to your families. Your personal story is important to the donors and your hopes and dreams for the future should also be included. Above all, the donors need to know the impact they have made in your lives and how their contributions will make a difference for so many more students who will follow in your footsteps.

Essays should be submitted via email to before Friday, February 26, 2016. There will be a “speech off” essay reading the week of February 29, 2016. You will be able to read your  essay at the dinner; it does not need to be memorized.
